Instructions for Attaching the Ceramic Picture to a Headstone
⚠️ IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING
Do not attempt to install the ceramic portrait unless the headstone is clean, dry, and warm.
For best results, installation should be done when temperatures are above 60°F (15°C) and the weather is expected to remain dry for at least 48–72 hours. This allows the 3M™ VHB (Very High Bond) tape to fully adhere to the granite.
What You’ll Need
Ceramic (porcelain) portrait with 3M™ VHB tape
Rubbing alcohol
Clean, lint-free cloth or fabric
Ruler or measuring tape
Silicone sealant (included, if applicable)
Installation Steps
1. Attach the VHB Tape to the Photo
The 3M™ VHB tape is double-sided.
Peel off one side of the tape and apply it to the back of the ceramic picture.
Press firmly and hold for 1–2 minutes to ensure proper adhesion.
2. Clean the Headstone
Using rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth, thoroughly clean the area of the headstone where the photo will be placed.
Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.
3. Measure and Position
Carefully measure and center the ceramic photo on the headstone.
⚠️ Take your time — once applied, removing and repositioning the photo is difficult and may reduce the holding strength of the tape.
4. Mount the Ceramic Photo
Peel off the remaining backing from the VHB tape on the back of the photo.
Firmly press the ceramic picture against the headstone and hold steady for 1–2 minutes.
5. Seal the Edges
Apply a thin bead of silicone sealant around the edges of the ceramic photo to protect against moisture.
Gently wipe away any excess residue.
✔ Installation Complete
Allow the adhesive to cure undisturbed for 48–72 hours.
Once cured, the ceramic portrait will be securely bonded to the headstone.
